VICA Offers Construction 101 Bootcamp in Around Town

Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) will be holding live on-line bootcamps where participants can expect to gain valuable insight into the various industry stakeholders and their roles/responsibilities, construction documents and contracts, risk management, construction law, bidding and tendering, and more!

The Vancouver Island Construction Association offers year-round professional development opportunities for the construction industry.

Created by the industry and for the industry, this course was developed by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) to give participants an opportunity to see how different pieces in the construction industry fit together. This course has something for everyone – whether you have years of experience or are new to the industry. Over 30% of the course attendees have 10+ years of industry experience. This course is perfect for procurement professionals and buyers, developing leaders, as well as operations and administrative staff and will support your team’s success.

Course material covers 9 modules and 166 topics including: project management, contract law, risk management and more. Course fee includes shipping of hard-copy student materials directly to students. Student materials include the Construction 101 Student Manual developed exclusively for the construction industry by the CCA and VICA’s custom bonus manual containing: Full example copies of selected CCA/CCDC contracts,  CCA 1: Stipulated Price Subcontract, CCDC 2 (2020): Stipulated Price Contract, CCDC 5A: Construction Management Contract – for Services, CCDC 5B: Construction Management Contract – for Services and Construction, Builders Lien Act Guide. 

Courses take place from 8am to 12:15 am on the following dates:

  • August 4, 9, 10 11

Other classes start on September. 8, November 9 and December 5.
