Toy Drive Loonies for Loggers in Around Town

December 5, 2019

As we watch local Vancouver Island communities grapple with the logging strike fallout, local companies Tippin Point Contracting Ltd. and Kram Industries Ltd. have teamed up to provide cargo trailer transportation for toy donations for the Loonies for Loggers Christmas Hampers.

Tippin Point Contracting and Kram Industries are helping out the local logging industry this Christmas by providing trailer transportation for the Loonie for Loggers toy drive. Learn more at Building Links.

Nearly 3,000 employees and contracted workers with Western Forest Products at six Vancouver Island manufacturing plants and timberland across the coast have been on strike since July 1. Mediators have been trying to break the impasse, but talks broke off in November.  Unfortunately, there is no notice of when talks will begin again and families are struggling to provide food, can’t pay their bills, and are losing their homes.

To help fill the toy trailer, call or text Tippin Point Contracting at 250.702.3466 or email rennison.jamie@gmail.com. Donations will be accepted until December 10. For more information on other ways to support the families, visit looniesforloggers.com.
