The John Hart Dam Generating Station replacement project has necessitated a change in the City of Campbell River’s water system. Four firms have prequalified for the next stage of construction.

Four firms pre-qualified for Raw Water Lake Intake project at John Hart Lake

The following firms have pre-qualified for construction of the Raw Water Lake Intake at John Hart Lake: Aecon-Frontier Kemper Joint Venture, Graham Infrastructure LP, Maple Reinders, and Michels Canada. These contractors demonstrated radial collector well construction experience, and were issued an invitation-only tender in late February. The select tender will close by March 15, with a decision expected shortly there after. Construction on the raw water intake must begin in April in order to meet the construction schedule set by the John Hart Dam generating station replacement project.

Comox Lake water treatment options workshop to be held today, March 2 from 7-9pm in Courtenay

A second workshop to evaluate Comox Lake water treatment options will be held today Wednesday, March 2 at the Best Western Westerly Hotel & Convention Centre from 7 – 9 pm. This workshop will include a presentation about the available treatment options, and a report on feedback provided at the January 18 public workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to provide input on treatment options and potential sites. An RFP could be issued in March or April seeking a Construction Manager for a Powell River remediation project

School District #47 Powell River is moving forward with a design which is 50% complete for a building envelope remediation for Kelly Creek School. Once approval has been received by the Ministry of Education, an RFP could be issued in March or April seeking a Construction Manager for the project.
