2015 Second Quarter Construction Statistics

In this issue we feature the construction statistics and values from January to June, 2015. Construction values are showing different trends in different areas. Total values this quarter were $242.8 million compared to $68.2 million last year. Subscribe to Building Links for more information.

Comox Approves Development Permit Application for Lorne Hotel Project

Comox council gave final adoption to zoning bylaw amendment No. 1791 and to the development permit application for the Lorne Hotel project. This decision allows for the construction of a five-storey, mixed-use building that will include the Lorne Pub, bistro and liquor store along with 21 residential units and a rooftop patio.

Building A at Acadia on the Walk Scheduled to Open August 1

Construction is on schedule for Building A at Acadia on the Walk in Courtenay and is expected to be complete on August 1st. This is the first of two identical four-storey buildings each containing 47 rental apartments at 355 Anfield Road in Courtenay. Rental of the apartments in Building A are available as of August 1st and 50% of the units have been rented.
