Building Links 2013, Issue #15

April 17, 2013

Editor’s Note

We have the first quarter statistics for 2013 in this issue, and the good news is that construction values are up 50% in Campbell River, for a total of $14.8 million. All of the other communities, including Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland and the Comox Valley Regional District have experienced declines. See Page 2 of this issue for the details.

The North Island Hospitals Project is moving forward. The following three proponents have been selected to move forward to the Request for Proposal Stage: Arbutus Healthcare Partners. Plenary Health and Tandem Health Partners. VIHA expects to award the contract in early 2014.

The next session of City’s free building and development forum will be held today, Wednesday, April 17 at noon at the Rivercorp boardroom at Enterprise Centre beside City Hall. This one-hour lunch ’n’ learn session is for local builders and developers and will focus on the City’s building permit system. Reserve a spot by calling the Land Use Services at 250-286-5725.
