Apartments under construction in Around Town
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation recently released it’s second-quarter ‘under construction’ statistics. While single-family homes construction remains fairly constant from last year, apartments under construction are increasing dramatically in the Comox Valley and Parksville.
Apartments under construction June 2018 vs June 2019
- Campbell River: 155 vs 88
- Comox Valley: 47 vs 309
- Parksville: 9 vs 123
- Powell River: 2 vs 9
While Campbell River apartment units under construction is down by almost 50% this past June, a building permit approved last week is adding 51 more units to next quarter’s statistics.
