Courtenay and Tofino: tenders released for roofing quotes

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District have released tenders for roofing, including a 6000 sq.ft. metal roof in Tofino and mixed materials on the Aquatic Centre in Courtenay. The Tofino building was originally constructed for WW2 activities and is currently occupied for storage and office space. The CVRD is seeking quotations from qualified contractors for the replacement of roofing, flashings, and drains at the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre.

Courtenay: tender for site prep for an artificial turf sports field

The city has approved a Development Permit application for the expansion of the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Station at 4315 Marine Avenue which was the site of the former barge terminal at South Harbour. As proposed, the expansion includes a new 53 m2 single storey workshop building, disaster response shed and storage shed. The sheds will be made from repurposed shipping containers. The workshop will be a wood frame building. All three structures will be enclosed by a chain link fence. The chain link fence will be treated with images printed on vertical slats with Indigenous motifs designed by a local Tla’amin artist. The existing station operates as the CCG’s combined operations centre for Powell River and the surrounding area. The applicant will now apply for a building permit.

Powell River: Canadian Coast Guard Station expanding

The Comox Valley Regional District invites tenders for site prep for an artificial turf sports field, including earthworks, servicing, hard and soft landscaping, supporting infrastructure, and lighting. Turf supply and installation will be completed by others.
