The Citaapi Mahtii Housing Society will redevelop a former school site fro an affordable housing project in Port Alberni. This artist’s renditions shows the design for the proposed four storey building.

Port Alberni: Approvals for a four storey, 35-unit affordable housing project.  

Council authorized the issuance of Development Variance Permit for a 35-unit affordable housing project, granting variances to building height and required amount of parking spaces. The building will include eight studio units, seven one-bedroom apartments, four two-bedroom units, 12 three-bedroom suites and 4 four-bedroom units. The Citaapi Mahtii Housing Society will redevelop the former school site In 2021, the Province announced funding for the project and the City of Port Alberni provided the site for construction.

Campbell River: Approved DP for 16 townhomes.

Council has approved a major development permit application, including a variance to underground wiring for this 16 unit rental townhouse development. The variance includes a 50% cash-in-lieu for the overall cost of undergrounding the powerlines along 1170 and 1192 Evergreen Road. As proposed, the two storey townhomes will be built in 4 fourplexes with 3 bedrooms, garage and parking for one more vehicle in front of the garage. Visitor parking will be on site with no street parking.

Tenders: 18 new, extended and previously published tenders.
