The City of Powell River is expected to increase its Development Cost Charges this year. Council has given third reading to the revised bylaw.

Powell River: Increases in Development Cost Charges

Powell River is expecting to increase Development Cost Charges in the next few months. The proposal includes a 127% increase for commercial buildings.

Quadra Island: Rezoning for an indoor micro cannabis production facility.

The Strathcona Regional District has given first and second reading for a rezoning application from Quadraponics Cannabis Inc. to allow for a 6,000 sq.ft. indoor micro cannabis production on a 2.5-hectare parcel currently zoned Industrial One. A public hearing will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, September 16 at the Quadra Island Community Hall. 

Port Hardy: Metal Roofing tender released for Arena.

The District of Port Hardy has issued a trade tender for the Recreation Revitalization (Arena) Project. This is a multi-phased project with this Phase of the work involving the supply and installation of a new insulated standing seam metal roof system to be placed directly on top of the existing metal roof of the Arena.
