Courtenay: City receives OCP amendment for proposed 35 unit development

The City of Courtenay has received an Official Community Plan amendment application for a 35 unit multi and single family project off of Arden Road. The applicant intends to develop 15 townhomes, 2 duplexes, and 18 single family homes on the 5.83 ha lot. A rezoning application was initially submitted in 2017.

Powell River: Associated Engineering awarded construction administration contract for wastewater treatment plant

The City of Powell River has direct awarded the contract for construction administration services for the $79.7 million Wastewater Treatment Plant to Associated Engineering. Design of the plant is nearing completion, and awaiting the outcome of the Value Engineering study mandated by the Green Infrastructure – Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) fund.

Campbell River: Affordable housing project with 79 units given third reading 

Campbell River council has approved third reading of a Zoning Amendment Bylaw for a five storey, 79 unit apartment building on the corner of Dogwood and 8th Avenue. The building must remain a rental building for at least 10 years and the rents must meet the Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporations for affordable housing in the region.
