In this week’s issue of Building Links we update Altiveris Development’s proposed senior’s care facility project in Courtenay, a 40-unit BC Housing project in Campbell River, and two affordable housing projects in Tofino.

Courtenay: Construction of senior’s care facility expected to begin this spring.

A 161 unit senior’s care facility in Courtenay is expected to begin construction this spring. The project is located off of Ryan Road near Superstore and is proposed as five storeys with a mix of studio to two-bedroom suites.

Campbell River: Approvals moving forward for a four-storey, 40 unit BC Housing project. 

The City of Campbell River and BC Housing have partnered together to proceed with a forty units four-storey apartment for women and their families.  The zoning is in place a development permit is expected to be submitted in February. 

Tofino: 90 units of affordable housing proceeding with construction of 14 units this year. 

Two affordable housing unit projects in Tofino are moving forward.  The Tofino Housing Corporation is working on the development of over 90 units on two different areas of Tofino, with 14 units to begin construction this year and 84 to begin in 2021.
