In this week’s issue of Building Links: Holiday Inn Express has proposed a new hotel in Courtenay, the Agricultural Land Commission has approved land-use for a proposed medical marijuana facility in Port Alberni, and our annual Building Permit statistics.

City of Courtenay: Plans are underway for a new 93 unit hotel. 

The City of Courtenay has received a rezoning application to proceed with a Holiday Inn Express Hotel on the corner of Ryan and Hunt Road. If approved, the hotel will be a four-storey building with 93 rooms.

Alberni Valley: A 57,000 sq.ft. medical marijuana facility has ALC approval. 

The Agricultural Land Commission has approved an application for a medical marijuana facility in Beaver Creek in the Alberni Valley. The project is proposed as a two-storey, 57,000 sq.ft. research and production building.

Building Links 2019 building permit statistics

This week’s issue includes the 2019 building permit statistics for the Comox Valley and Campbell River region. In total, 927 permits were issued for $301 million.
