Alberni-Clayoquot: The district is considering preventing cement-based buildings for cannabis production.

The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District gave first reading to a zoning bylaw to prevent new construction of cement-based buildings for cannabis production. The bylaw is expected to affect Wild Coast Canna’s proposed $100 million craft cannibis project. 

Courtenay: Two new commercial/retail buildings for the Crown Island Shopping Centre. 

Phase 3 of the Crown Isle Shopping Centre in Courtenay is moving forward with two final buildings. This final phase includes over 19,000 sq.ft. of rental opportunities suitable for retail, restaurant, and offices.

The city seeks direction for park infrastructure over next fifteen years

The City of Powell River is requesting proposals for a detailed Parks and Trails Master Plan that will provide direction for park infrastructure over the next fifteen years.
