Campbell River: Seven commercial-retail buildings proposed for Jubilee Heights.  

A major development permit application was submitted in November for the Jubilee Heights Commercial Development for seven commercial buildings. The City reviewed the application and requested in December that the applicant revise their proposal. Also in December, preliminary subdivision approval was granted for Phase 6 with 52 residential lots. The applicant is now required to submit a detailed engineering design for final approval. In November, 25 lots in Phase 5 were released for sale. Prices for the single family lots start at $359,900 for .15 acres to $489,900 for .23 acres. The two duplex lots are both .23 acres, priced at $559,900 and $569,900. All of those lots are still listed on the project website as available for sale.

Cumberland: DP approved for a two building storage unit project.

A development permit has been approved for two single storey storage facilities, office and two storey caretaker’s suite on a 1.8 acre lot in the new Bevan Industrial Land. The buildings are oriented parallel to Beck Avenue which preserves the view corridors to the mountains and glacier. As proposed, total storage for Building 1 and 2 is estimated at 1652 m2, the office is another 12 m2 and 197 m2 Residence. The site features landscaping throughout and includes a rooftop patio with mountain and glacier views for the caretaker. An estimated 48 storage units will be available to rent.

Comox: Proposed six storey mixed-use building with 52 residential units.

Comox Mall Ltd. is proposing a 6 storey mixed-use building on the corner of Comox Avenue and Port Augusta Street. The project includes approximately 2,800 sq.ft. of street orientated retail space, 65 underground parking stalls and 52 residential units. The community consultation required prior to the submission of a development application wrapped up January 4.
