This is one of three multi-family development projects in Port Alberni that has received a development permit approval. Located on Woodland Crescent, the applicant intends to building duplexes and triplexes.

Port Alberni: Development permits approved for 2 townhome developments and a 93 unit four storey apartment building.

Residential development in Port Alberni is increasing with Council approving three applications this week, including two townhome developments and a 93 unit four storey apartment building. Council has approved a development permit application for Phase 2 of the Port View Landing multi-family residential development (including a four-storey apartment building), 11 units on Woodland Cresent, and two triplexes for a total of 6 units at 3774 12th Avenue. The proposed new development will create 93 new rental units in a four storey apartment building and six two storey townhouses.

Comox Valley Regional District:  Tender released for the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Design-Build Project.

The Comox Valley Regional District has issued an RFP for the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Design- Build Project. Under a Competitive Selection Process, the CVRD is seeking to enter into an agreement to construct certain infrastructure as part of the larger Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project. The purpose of this request for qualifications is to invite interested parties to submit responses indicating their interest in the Project and their qualifications. Based on these responses, the CVRD intends to select a shortlist of up to three Proponents to participate in the next stage of the Competitive Selection Process.

Campbell River: Two new projects proposing over 100 units of mixed residential.

Campbell River staff are reviewing two Zoning Bylaw Amendment applications for over 100 units of mixed residential. The proposal includes three properties totalling over 40 acres. Each property has a separate application and different owners that are working together towards development. The property at 120 & 155 S. Elk River Road is a 19.79 acre property while 240 S. Elk River Road is a 22.62 acre property. The applications include rezoning from a mix of RM-1 and RE-1 to R-1A, R-2, and RM-1 zones. The proposed zoning is a mix of low-density residential uses ranging from single family homes with the option of secondary suites, two-family homes to multiple-family zoned sites. The proposal at this time includes 41 single family lots with the option of secondary suites, 38 multiple-family units based on 25 dwelling units per hectare and 8 two-family dwellings or duplexes.
