Port Alberni: San Group is proposing a 73-acre, 3000-unit residential development.

A 73-acre, 3000-unit residential development has been proposed for Port Alberni, including a 10-storey highrise built with lumber produced at the San Group’s own mills. The cost of completion is estimated between $900 million to $1.1 billion dollars within 5 to 7 years. The project has been proposed by the San Group, who owns several mills in the area. An application for rezoning was submitted last week.

Powell River: A new 28-lot rural residential bare land strata subdivision has been proposed.

A 28-lot rural residential bare land strata subdivision has been proposed for north of Powell River. The lots include several 1.5 + hectare waterfront properties. The property is outside of the service area boundary of the Northside Volunteer Fire Department and a development permit application will be required for construction to proceed.

Courtenay: City staff are reviewing an application for 34 new townhouses.

Courtenay is reviewing an application for 34 new townhouses in The Ridge, a south Courtenay subdivision. The phased development includes two to three level units with three beds, three baths, and single garage. Once complete, the project is expected to 10 duplex units and 24 four-plex units.
