Campbell River: Council has given first and second reading to a Zoning Amendment Bylaw for a new five storey, 60 unit building.   

Campbell River Council has given first and second reading to a Zoning Amendment Bylaw for a new five storey, 60 unit building. The applicant has requested a site-specific text amendment for increased density provisions. An electronic public hearing is expected to be scheduled this month.

Courtenay: Paving work is underway Crown Isle’s newest subdivision with 54 single family lots.

Paving work is underway for the newest subdivision in Courtenay’s Crown Isle community. This subdivision includes 54 single family lots and 35% of the lots have been contracted. Registration is expected to be completed at the end of July and construction on the new homes is expected to underway in late July or early August.

Tofino: Construction of a 14 unit affordable rental complex is underway. 

The construction of Tofino’s newest 14 unit affordable rental complex is underway. Applications for rentals will be accepted towards the end of 2021 with rents expected to be up to $1725 for 3 bed units. The priority is to rent to households who have been living in the region, working full time in Tofino and with household incomes less than approximately $51,000 for the 1 bedroom units. There are similar income thresholds for the two and three bedroom units.
