The Ocean Front Senior’s Village in Courtenay hopes to begin construction in August

The Ocean Front Senior’s Village in Courtenay has submitted a development permit application with the hopes to begin construction in August. The facility will have 126 publicly funded beds and 78 independent living suites. Tenders are expected to be issued this spring with a project value of approximately $55 million.

Brown’s Bay Resort is proceeding with resort expansions to add additional lots

Brown’s Bay Resort, north of Campbell River, is proceeding with plans to expand the resort to include a 45 lot strata subdivision. The resort is exploring administrative options for its utilities and has approached the Strathcona Regional District with a request to take over operation of the water and sewer service.

BC Hydro continues to review project upgrades estimated to exceed $300 million

BC Hydro continues to review the Puntledge River Flow, Strathcona Dam Discharge, and the Ladore Dam upgrades.  Procurements could begin as early as 2021 and costs are estimated to exceed $300 million.
