VIREB July Market Update in Around Town

According to the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board’s (VIREB) July Statistics, 453 single-family homes sold on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) System compared to 406 the previous month and 438 in July 2018.  

The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board has released it’s July sales report, showing a sales increase year-over-year and over June.

The number of units that sold decreased the most in Campbell River at -15% (52 to 44), while the Comox Valley and Port Alberni reported the largest increases at 39 and 40% respectively. 

July MLS ® Average Sales

  • Comox Valley: $573,347, +7% last July
  • Campbell River:  $509,382, +11% last July
  • Port Alberni: $357,088, +11% last July
  • Parksville/Qualicum: $605,679, -3% last July

Inventory of single-family homes in July rose by nine per cent from one year ago (1,419 to 1,552). Sales of single-family homes rose by three per cent year over year, sales of apartments dipped by 14 per cent, and townhouse sales increased by 22 per cent.
