Public Review of Courtenay’s Draft OCP in Around Town

Courtenay’s Draft Official Community Plan (OCP) is now available for public review and input until March 8, 2022. The city is encouraging encourages all residents, stakeholders, organizations, and businesses to share their views on the proposed vision and specific growth management related policies that will inform how Courtenay grows until 2030.

The City of Courtenay is engaged in public consultation for the new draft Official Community Plan. There are many ways you can get involved.

A number of documents and videos are available to help those who are interested take a sneak peak or a deep dive into the draft OCP.

The third Town Hall meeting will also be held on Thursday, February 17 from 12-1:30 pm, visit https://bit.ly/courtenayOCPmeet to register, and an online survey is available until March 8 at https://bit.ly/courtenayOCPsurvey.

The development and construction community will be interested to know that the Arden Corridor Local Area Plan will continue to form part of the new OCP, with minor amendments. Development Permit Area Guidelines to guide the form and character of large and infill developments and environmental, hazardous conditions are also part of the new OCP. The guidelines for all proposed categories are available online.
