Campbell River’s southern boundary extension plans have been approved by the Province and they are prepared to sign off on a referendum to allow Area D residents to vote on whether they would like to be part of the City of Campbell River. Council has approved to begin the Alternative Approval Process on June 28th, 2014. The basis of the proposal would have the city extend sewer services to 530 properties in area D. If the proposal is successful, those property owners would pay $9,300 each plus a charge of $1,800 for hook up. They would also become taxpayers in the City of Campbell River.
The Village of Cumberland is seeking Proposals for a ‘conceptual/functional’ design and ‘detailed’ design of Cumberland Road and Bevan Road and has issued a Request for Proposal which closes on June 26.
