Building Permit Issued for New Residential Group Home in Courtenay

A building permit was issued this week in the amount of $500,000 to construct a new fully accessible five bedroom single storey dwelling for use as a residential group home at 2847 Gatehouse Place in Courtenay. Kinetic Construction has been awarded the contract.

Vista Housing To Submit Rezoning and Development Permit Applications This Week

The Vista Housing Society has finalized design for its proposed affordable housing development for adults and seniors over the age of 55 at 2240 Comox Avenue and expects to submit rezoning and development permit applications this week. The project would see a complex with 74 self-contained units built on the site; 38 units will be designated as affordable housing with the remaining 36 units being set at market rates.

Campbell River Waits on Grant Results for Possible Organic Waste Processing Facility

A decision will not be made until early 2016 on a grant application submitted by the City of Campbell River to the Strategic Priorities Fund for a possible organic waste and biosolids processing facility in Campbell River. In the fall of 2014, the City of Campbell River sought proposals from qualified companies in the private sector for a public-private partnership to develop and operate an organic waste and biosolids processing facility in Campbell River.
