Kinetic Construction has been awarded the contract to start construction on the new McDonalds Restaurant that will be located at the Crown Isle Shopping Centre, close to the Thrifty’s grocery store. They plan to begin construction on the new restaurant in mid-June. The Dollarama store is currently under construction by AFC Construction and the Mr. Lube store is expected to begin construction shortly.

InPower BC is anticipating the John Hart site release from BC Hydro in June to allow them to start the work for this $1 billion project. The site work may commence in late June once all permits and approvals are in place. Survey crews have been walking the site with surveying instruments as a preliminary requirement for understanding the dimensions and layout of the construction site. An Interpretive Centre is located in the upper parking lot of the John Hart Dam location and it is open Wednesday to Sunday.

Kwakiutl Band Council in Port Hardy has issued a tender for the Kwakiutl Wagalus School Civil Works for Off-site and On-site work only. Kwakiutl Band Council will construct a new school for the Kindergarten to Grade 7. The tender closes on June 18; see our tender section for more information.
