Defence Construction Canada issues Advanced Notice for possible $45 million project

In this week’s issue of a Building Links: possible $45 million Defence project, proposed mixed-use building in Cumberland, new senior’s facility in Courtenay.

Defence Construction Canada has issued an Advance Project Notice for a possible $45 million project to recapitalize roads and utilities at 19 Wing Comox. See the tenders section for more details.

New four-storey mixed-use building proposed in Cumberland

A new four-storey mixed-use building is being proposed in Cumberland. The building would be located in in the heritage section of the village and consists of commercial space on the ground floor with 26 units residential units above. A Heritage Alteration permit application is expected to proceed to council for consideration this month. 
143 unit independent-living seniors facility moves forward

A new 143 unit independent senior’s facility in Courtenay moving forward

The facility is expected to be a four-storey building with studios, one and two bedroom suites, an atrium, and other common areas. A public hearing is expected to be scheduled soon.
