Site mobilization underway at 19 Wing Comox for new Search and Rescue Training Facility

Site mobilization is underway and tenders have been sent to pre-qualified companies to bid for the foundation, civil works and steel erection works for the new Search and Rescue Training Facility at 19 Wing Comox. The new building will be approximately 6,000 sq. metres in size. Awards are expected to be made very soon for these tenders. Mechanical and electrical trade packages are expected to be tendered prior to December 25.

Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. awarded the contract for temporary ultraviolet light (UV) equipment at Comox Valley Water System

The Comox Valley Regional District has awarded the contract to Knappett Industries (2006) Ltd. for the provision of civil, structural and mechanical works for the installation of ultraviolet light (UV) equipment for the Comox Valley Water System (CVWS) at the existing water chlorination facility.

Revitalization plans for the historic former nurses’ residence on the Cormorant Island moving forward

‘Namgis First Nation (NFN) is moving forward with revitalization plans for the historic former nurses’ residence on the Cormorant Island waterfront in Alert Bay. NFN has contracted Steelhead Enterprises Ltd. to replace the roof and has awarded a contract to JWT Architecture and Planning for preliminary concept drawings. A design charrette will take place in early January with the preliminary designs completed in early February.
