February 13, 2013

Editor’s Note

The $1 billion John Hart generating station replacement project near Campbell River has been approved by the British Columbia Utilities Commission. The next step is obtaining legislative approval of a parks boundary adjustment and then choosing a preferred proponent to design and build the project.

A building permit in the amount of $700,000 has been issued for renovation at Georgia Park Elementary School in Campbell River. Work consists of removal of the existing stucco and the installation of a new stucco cladding system as well as other miscellaneous items.

Westview Veterinary Hospital is planning to expand their existing commercial building on Joyce Avenue in Powell River. A development permit application has been submitted and the applicant proposes to repair and improve the building, adding additional reception, office and clinical care space.
