The City of Powell River (City) is pleased to invite proposals for the Energy Retrofit of the Aquatic Centre project. The City is seeking to identify energy efficiency opportunities in its aquatic centre facility. The City is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms who have a minimum of eight years experience in energy efficiency upgrades in natatoriums, for a retrofit of the aquatic centre HVAC and heating system. A tender has been issued for the Closure Construction of the Campbell River Waste Management Centre. There is a mandatory pre-tender meeting on June 17, see page 9 of this issue for more information.

The development bylaws for the proposed Carlisle Lane project , which would permit the development of 33 residential single family lots, received third reading at the Council meeting last week. Carlisle Lane is proposed for 10 acres near downtown Cumberland. The plans include construction of number of small carriage homes on larger corner lots and those that have laneway access.

City of Campbell River holds Free Building and Development Forum on June 19

The next one-hour lunch ’n’ learn session for local builders and developers will occur Wednesday, June 19. Campbell River staff will provide information on application submission requirements for development permits as well as a review of the Official Community Plan’s form and character guidelines.

Local industry professionals interested in attending are reminded to bring their own brown bag lunch. Pre-registration is requested to ensure minimum attendance required to run the forum. Please register by calling Land Use Services at 250-286-5725.

Please note these forums will now be held on a quarterly basis. The forum will take place at noon, Wednesday, June 19 in the Rivercorp boardroom at Enterprise Centre beside City Hall. Seating is limited to 25 attendees.
