Last month, 236 single-family homes sold in the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) area, down two per cent from last November and down three per cent from October 2023. Sales of condos came in at 56 units, increasing by four per cent from 2023. In the row/townhouse category, 50 units sold, up by nine per cent from 2023.

New Rules for Short-Term Rentals In Around Town

In an effort to divert short term into long term rentals, the Province is implementing a ‘principal residence’ requirement. This regulation will limit short term rentals to a property where the owner lives for the majority of the year, and applies to communities with more than 10,000 residents.

VIREB Real Estate Market Update In Around Town

Last month, 244 single-family homes sold in the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) area, the same number as last October and down eight per cent from September 2023 (266). Sales of condos came in at 60 units, increasing by 43 per cent from 2023. In the row/townhouse category, 58 units sold, up by 14 per cent from 2023.
