Around Town: Women in Construction Host Safety Event

Women in Construction (WiC) is a grassroots Vancouver Island organization working to increase female participation in one of the key sectors of our provincial economy: construction.

The Nanaimo chapter of Women in Construction will be hosting a safety event Wednesday September 16.

Membership is open to all who support women working in construction and who are passionate about the industry. WiC has grown to include chapters in Victoria and Nanaimo.

Members include private and public sector workers, students, engineers, apprentices, labourers, tradespersons, project managers, developers, architects and professional admin staff – basically anyone who considers themselves a woman in construction.

Both Chapters of WiC are supported by the Vancouver Island Construction Association.
