The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) held its eighth annual Commercial Building Awards on April 23 at the Coast Bastion Hotel in Nanaimo , and two Comox Valley businesses were recognized for their recently completed building projects.
The Comox Valley Child Development Association won the Excellence Award for Community Recreational Building, while the K’omoks First Nation received a Merit Award in the Community Institutional Category for their recently completed administration building on Comox Road.
The Commercial Building Awards were established by VIREB to recognize outstanding workmanship and design in commercial buildings. Each year, winners are selected by a panel of independent judges from various professional and development industries. This year, there were a total of 34 entries from the Cowichan Valley to Campbell River represented at the gala in 11 categories. All projects were completed between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014.
