The City of Campbell River, in partnership with the Community Energy Association, BC Hydro and the Comox Valley Regional District is offering an Energy Step Code workshop for local builders and developers on February 21.

In addition to supporting long-term improvements in energy efficiency in the BC Building Code, the BC Energy Step Code will improve the consistency of building regulations in the Province. The purpose of this workshop is to provide you with a better understanding of what the Energy Step Code is and how you can meet the requirements in your current and future construction projects.

This session includes an introduction to the Energy Step Code, information on the cost to comply and an overview of financial incentives that will be made available as you choose to meet the prescriptive requirements prior to regulation enforcement dates.

You will also have an opportunity to provide input on how the City of Campbell River will begin implementation and future requirements. Representatives from the Step Code program, CVRD, and the City will provide technical overviews and information with a focus on zone 4 & 5 requirements.
