Building permit submitted for proposed 34-unit rental housing on 31st Street in Courtenay

A building permit application has been submitted for a proposed rental housing project at 31st and Cliffe in Courtenay. The proposed multi-residential housing project consists of two buildings containing a total of 34 units, associated surface parking, and landscaped areas.

A building permit application for the proposed multi-residential housing project at the southeast corner of 31st Street and Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay was submitted last week. City council approved a development permit with variances for the proposed rental housing project at the southeast corner of 31st Street and Cliffe Avenue in June. The proposed multi-residential housing project consists of two buildings containing a total of 34 units, associated surface parking, and landscaped areas.

Public Hearing held for proposed multi-residential project on Kilpatrick in Courtenay

A public hearing for a Zoning amendment application for a proposed multi-residential and commercial development at 3040 and 3070 Kilpatrick Avenue is now complete. The applicant is requesting a rezoning of 3040 and 3070 Kilpatrick Avenue from C-2 Zone to a comprehensive development zone to allow a mixed multi residential and commercial development comprised of a 70 unit residential bldg., a mixed commercial & residential bldg. with 52 residential suites and 11 commercial units and the 3rd building will contain one commercial unit.

Hornby Island Arts Council submits development application for proposed Arts Centre

The Hornby Island Arts Council has submitted a development application to Island Trust for a proposed Hornby Island Arts Centre on Central Road. The project is contingent on federal and/or provincial funding. The Arts Council is currently negotiating a lease extension to ensure a long-term location for the project. A design concept has been completed. It is expected that if approved, this project will be tendered for construction.
