19 Wing Comox

19 Wing Comox has been announced as the new home for the Search and Rescue fixed wing aircraft training facility.

The training facility for the new Search and Rescue fixed wing aircraft will be located at 19 Wing Comox, this news just announced!

19 Wing Comox has been named as the training facility for the new Search and Rescue fixed wing aircraft. The training centre will consist of a 72,000 sq. ft., three-storey facility that houses training classrooms, simulators and a training hangar to house a full-scale C-27J maintenance training aircraft platform. The centre will take up to four years to build, with ATCO Frontec, of Calgary, Alberta, named as the company responsible for the design and construction.

Construction underway this week on $4.8 million multi-use building in Courtenay known as Riverwalk

A building permit was issued this week in the amount of $4.8 million for the building known as Riverwalk in Courtenay. This building will include 16 condominiums and 14,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on the main floor of the building. The commercial space is available for sale or to lease. Construction is underway as of this week. Traine Construction is the builder for this project.

A tender has been issued on behalf of St. Joseph’s General Hospital, to seek proposals from Construction Management firms for the renovation of the hospital

 Field & Marten Associates Inc. (FMA), acting as the Development Consultant for the St. Joseph General Hospital, is seeking proposals from Construction Management firms with proven experience and qualifications in the construction management of residential complex care facilities, assisted living facilities, and seniors independent living facilities. It is the intention of FMA to review the respondents’ submissions and have selected proponents participate in an interview process.
