A development permit has been approved for Phase I of a renovation project for the Westerly Hotel in Courtenay. The applicant is moving forward with the first phase to convert existing hotel suites into 48 seniors residences. Construction is expected to begin, once approvals are in place and construction drawings have been completed.

New proposed seniors’ retirement residence at Courtenay River moving forward

Plans for the development permit and rezoning applications are being finalized for a new multi-storey building in Courtenay.  It is expected that the applications will be submitted in early December.The proposed project is called Tiger Lily at Courtenay River, and is a full-service, multiple-care-level seniors’ retirement residence with condominiums and rental apartments for independent living, supportive living, assisted living and dementia care.

CVRD issues tender for the Courtenay Booster Pump Station Upgrade
