The Comox Valley Farmers Institute and the Comox Valley Exhibition Association will be working together to propose a new multi-purpose on the Comox Valley exhibition grounds. This image shows the site as it currently is.

Approval of the draft Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds master plan in April, including the proposed combined multi-purpose facility for the Comox Valley Exhibition Association (CVEX) and the Comox Valley Farmer’s Institute (CVFI), means conceptual work for this project may proceed. The two projects combined would probably push the total cost to between $10 and $12 million.

The architects for the new CVRD building hope to hold a public hearing in June

KMBR Architects Planners Inc. (KMBR) were retained in November 2016 to develop the design of the new Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) office building. KMBR presented the board an overview of the schematic design and the collected feedback from committee members. KMBR will host a public open house in early June to inform the public on how their feedback has been incorporated into the schematic design and gather additional feedback. This project is estimated to cost approximately $11.7 million.

Design and costing on the new West Coast Multiplex at Long Beach is expected to be complete in August

The West Coast Multiplex Society (WCMS) and the Alberni- Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) have engaged VDA Architecture for design and costing services for Phase I of the proposed West Coast Multiplex in Long . Phase I as proposed will include a rink estimated to cost $6 million. The parties hope to have design and costing complete by August of this year.
