Public hearing for Sino Bright School project in Powell River

A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 7 regarding rezoning for the proposed Sino Bright School campus in the Townsite area of Powell River. In February, council accepted the recommendation to bring zoning and sustainable official community plan amendment bylaws through first and second reading. Sino Bright Investments made an offer last spring to PRSC Land Developments to purchase 132 acres of property. The Coquitlam-based company wants to build a Powell River campus on a 30-acre piece of the land. Sino Bright is planning on rolling out its public consultation soon. This project is expected to bring an increase in construction-related jobs and, once operational, is expected to create 107 permanent positions.

Alberni Regional District recommending Bowerman Excavating Ltd. for Runway Project

Staff are recommending the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District award the tender for the Runway Extension Project to to Bowerman Excavating Ltd. for a total contract price for Part A and Part B (provisional) for $4,155,339 . A decision on final award of the tender is expected this week.

Building permits applications to be submitted Toyota and Ford dealership projects in Campbell River

Building permit applications are expected to be submitted soon for the new buildings for both the Toyota Dealership and Steve Marshall Ford in Campbell River. Construction on both projects will begin once all approvals are in place.
