The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) board of directors has gained approval via elector response to proceed with capital improvements to the Comox Valley Curling Centre. An alternative approval process, received public approval to borrow $1.9 million for the upgrades. The CVRD will proceed with the adoption of the bylaw to borrow the funds.

The Kwakiutl Indian Band in Port Hardy invites tenders for the construction of the Wagalus School Building from qualified general contractors. This tender call is for the building contract only. Another tender for Civil Works for Off-site and On-site work closed today. Kwakiutl Band Council will construct a new school for the K to Grade 7 students.

A new Tim Horton’s restaurant will soon be built in Willow Point in Campbell River. A building permit application has= been submitted for the building which will be approximately 3,000 sq. ft. in size and will have a drive-through component. The building permit is expected to be released by the end of the June or early July.
