Town of Comox Receives Second Grant for Marina Park Vitalization Project

The Marina Park vitalization project in Comox has been approved for a grant of $560,134 from Western Economic Diversification Canada. The vitalization project was approved for a grant from Island Coast Economic Trust worth $320,000 in March, but required matching funds from Western Economic Diversification Canada. Construction will begin on two new buildings with recreational and public meeting spaces for up to 70 people in 2016. Also included will be a new Harbour Services Building which will house the wharfinger, visitor information services as well as washrooms and showers.

City of Campbell River Awards Three Tenders for Robron Synthetic Turf Field Project

The City of Campbell River awarded the tender for the Robron Synthetic Turf Field Project to Upland Contracting Ltd; the tender for the supply and delivery of sports lighting for this project to Musco Lighting; and the tender for supply and installation of a synthetic turf field to AstroTurf West Distributors. The project budget was approved by city council at $2.62 million. Funding is being provided by Parks Parcel Tax and Capital Lending Reserve.

Kwakiutl Indian Band Invites Tenders For Construction of Soccer Field and Track

The Kwakiutl Indian Band invites sealed tenders for the construction of the Soccer Field and Track from qualified contractors. The location is next to the new Kwakiutl Wagalus School (nearing completion) located at 116 Eagle Place Fort Rupert Village, Port Hardy. This tender call is for a sand-based drained soccer field and 400m track. An option for additional work includes an upgrade to a rubber track surface and field lighting.
