Around Town: Comox Valley Development & Construction Association

July 23, 2015

I attended the first meeting of the proposed Comox Valley Development & Construction Association last week. This new association will represent developers, builders and associated businesses in the construction industry in the Comox Valley.

There is a new association in the Comox Valley

There is a new association in the Comox Valley representing developers, builders and associated businesses in the construction industry.

The new association expressed its desire to contact local politicians with ideas about the affordable housing issue, along with engaging in dialogue about the importance of the development and construction industry to the Comox Valley. The industry supports many workers directly, and also provides a trickle down effect on other Comox Valley businesses.

The association is seeking feedback from developers and associated businesses in the construction industry for their first meeting on Sept. 15.  For the first year of the association, Murray Presley will be the chair person and Rick Waldhaus will be the vice-chair. A board of directors will also be in place by the first business meeting.
