Construction Information for North Vancouver Island
Building Links includes weekly Vancouver Island construction information for the areas of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, the Regional Districts, Campbell River, Port Hardy, the North Island as well as Port Alberni, Tofino and Ucluelet and Powell River.
The History of Building Links – Founded 1993
Building Links was started on May 17, 1993, by founder Clarice Coty. After a two-month survey was completed, it was determined that businesses from the Vancouver Island construction industry could benefit from having their own source of local and up-to-date news with regards to development permits, calls for expression of interests, building permits, tenders as well as quarterly and annual construction statistics.(link here to page of annual stats for 2008) Building Links has published over 800 issues since its inception in 1993.
About Clarice Coty – Editor and Founder
Clarice Coty, founder and editor of Building Links is a past board member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Comox Valley Economic Development Society, the Living Green, Building Green Conference and the Creative Employment Access Society. Currently, she holds the position of Vice-President for YANA, (You Are Not Alone), a non-profit society that raises money for children and their families who have to travel outside of the Comox Valley for medical care.
